Power strips are worth buying if you own a lot electronic gadgets that you would like to keep protected from voltage spikes. These power strips are inexpensive, easy-to-use, and have enough outlets to protect expensive gear from voltage spikes.
The best power outlets don't just protect equipment. They allow you to plug in more than one device simultaneously, and they even come with smart outlets controlled by voice commands or apps. Depending on the model, you may also be able to monitor energy use and set up schedules to turn your devices on or off automatically.
Best fitbit surge
Fitbit surge is a portable battery-powered power strip that has the same features of other power strips in our list. This includes multiple USB ports and outlets. It's only a little bit more than half an inch wide and weighs about 5 ounces, which makes it a good choice for smaller backpacks or carry-on luggage.

Electric surge protection
While most power strips are just an extra outlet, some come with a built-in surge protector. These devices come from many different companies. They offer additional protection to expensive equipment against surges.
You can use these if you need to protect expensive technology from the elements. They are also useful for charging your favorite devices when you travel or leave home. Most of them don't come with many features so we recommend getting a more complete option to suit your needs.
Bototek Heavy Duty Surge Protector
This power strip is a good value and has many features. This is a powerful power strip which can charge and protect four USB devices with high speeds.
TP-Link Kasa HS300
The TP-Link HS300 power strip is a good option for those who need a little more power. It is a smart strip of power that you can control with an app, or voice commands. It offers six outlets as well as multiple ways for connecting devices. It is compatible both with Alexa and Google Assistant. This means you can control the power strip from anywhere, using your smartphone.

Tripp Lite 3-Outlet
We chose the Tripp Lite 3 Outlet as our best travel power strip due to its compact size, light weight and portability. It is half an ounce wide and will fit in most carry on luggage or backpacks. Its plug prongs fold away neatly when not in use, and it's sturdy and sits securely against the wall when plugged in.
The only thing that's a drawback is that it doesn't have the same high joule rating of some of the other barebones surge protectors on our list. It doesn't provide as much equipment protection either, but does have a greater Joule rating than some of the other power strips that we tested.
