There are many flaws in consumer car reviews. There are few studies that have analyzed car purchasing behavior. Many studies have compared reviews from different car brands, but few have examined the effects of the reviews on consumers.
The most useful review sites for consumers are those that address a specific stage of the buying process. Edmunds is an example of such a site. The site asks customers to rate the car's best features. This is done to help consumers identify the most important features. Some sites, like the Autotrader website, focus more on selling cars than providing useful information.

The research team performed a comparative analysis on the different websites in order to determine which reviews had the greatest influence. These analyses were done using text mining. For the purpose of determining which car features are most popular, we selected 24 samples. The most popular terms associated with features were also identified.

Even though there is not much information available, it is clear that reviews from car buyers have a huge impact on the buyer’s decision. It's not surprising that consumers want to read more about consumer reviews and how they can influence their purchase decisions. Even though a comprehensive study of the consumer car reviews is not feasible, the literature review provided enough information to suggest which features are the most useful. With that in mind, the study was a success.
